Seychelles Tropical Fitness Camp 9th to 16th June, 2019.

Are you looking for a different kind of fitness experience?

Something that will energise and inspire you and bring you back to life?

The answer is not another pampering retreat to outsource your well-being to someone else.

Nor is it some kind of ridiculous extreme boot camp type ‘break’ to hammer your body into shape.

Imagine a beautiful tropical island, a glorious long sandy beach next to a clear blue Indian Ocean, against a backdrop of lush green vegetation and palm trees.

Imagine awakening to the sound of the waves breaking on the shore and a cacophony of bird song. You feel truly free and alive and the world is full of new possibilities.

Coffee taken, time for a gentle stroll barefoot down the beach along the water’s edge. You feel so good you can’t help breaking into a jog. The energy of the group pulls you along.

Eventually we find a quiet spot under the coconut trees where we perform some light body weight exercises and stretches as we watch the tropical sun rising over the beautiful mountains in the background. Then into the warm Indian Ocean to cool down.

Excited at the prospect of a whole new day ahead in these stunning surroundings, you join your new found friends on the seafront terrace of the beachfront hotel for a refreshing drink and watch the world go by.

Back to the beachside house for breakfast, time to relax, read a book, chat, walk down to the nearby hotels, restaurants and shops, take part in the wide range of water sports on offer only a few hundred metres away, swim in the pool of a nearby hotel, whatever you like.

Delicious lunch followed by a siesta if you wish, then an optional workshop on an aspect of health and fitness. The overall theme will be how to avoid the so-called diseases and injuries of old age by learning how the human body really works and how the mind and body are not just ‘connected’ but totally inseparable and mutually dependent.

What better setting to understand the crucial role of sensory stimulation from the environment, as well as our own ability to recreate ourselves from moment to moment by the way we choose to think and act. This understanding is the key to optimal health and fitness and a better life, wherever you are now.

Following on from this, there will be more movement. You will discover that movement is pleasurable and fun, not the chore it sometimes seems at home. We will engage in all kinds of movement, including ball games, team activities, games in the sea, running activities. When you’ve had enough you can cool down again in the sea and return to the house for a dinner of fresh fish, usually caught that very same day in the adjacent ocean and a drink or two if you wish.

By now you will probably just want to sleep, as you will be so relaxed mentally and physically, but, if not, you are free to wander along to the local hotels, bars and restaurants where there is often entertainment, including demonstrations of local dance etc.

Everything on the programme is optional - you are accountable only to yourself - it's totally your choice but we will give you the tools you need and you will have as much individual help and support as you wish. There is no judgement here - experience tells me that kindness and encouragement gets much better results for clients.

This is in two houses on a large plot of land at the end of the bay and affords beautiful views of the bay and has a lovely garden of tropical flowers.

The larger house can accommodate up to a maximum of 7 people, with one large bedroom and two smaller ones. There is a large kitchen/ living room area with dining table, as well as an outdoor seated area with dining table in the garden.

The smaller house normally accommodates two people, although it has the possibility of sleeping an extra person downstairs. It has a small kitchen, a living room and also a balcony built on the large rocks in front which affords a magnificent view of the bay. There is also an al fresco dining area at the back of the house.

Whichever house you are in, it is literally less than a minute to walk across the small road in front and be on the beach or in the ocean.

The price quoted is based on 2 or 3 people sharing a room and is per person. If you require a single room, it may be possible but there will be a supplement payable. Part of the ethos of Roads to Freedom is the importance of group dynamics in improving lives, so we encourage you to be part of the group, for your own well-being. One of the main reasons we are so unhealthy and unhappy in Western society is because we are so isolated and being part of a community is key to well-being, whether we like it or not.

If you come with friends or partners, we will be happy to put you together in a room if you wish. Those travelling alone will be accommodated with same sex room mates who we think are suitable for them initially but you are free to change things around as a group once you get to know each other.

Experience tells me that most people remember the friendships they make more than perhaps anything else, so we try to ensure as far as possible that your fellow holiday makers are pleasant people and we will be asking you to fill out a questionnaire before you come, to find out as much about you as we can, so that your experience can be personalised as much as possible.

Anybody who is judged to be persistently disruptive or interferes with the enjoyment of the group will be asked to leave. In this case, no refund will be payable, unless we consider there are extenuating circumstances. This is extremely unlikely to happen on this kind of trip as it is not designed to appeal to these kind of people.

Food and drink.

You will be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner, included in the price. These will be prepared by Elvira, a native Seychellois, who has lived in the UK for over 40 years, who is an expert chef with massive catering experience, including running her own food businesses. She also published her own recipe book a few years ago “Spice it up baby”, in which she mixes Creole flavours with traditional English cuisine. You will definitely not be disappointed with the food, that’s for sure!

Individual dietary requirements will be catered for as far as is possible on a tropical island! Please let us know as early as possible of any food allergies and any other specific needs and we will do our utmost to help.

Basic drinks will be included in the price - tea, coffee, milk, water. Other drinks may be purchased in the local shop next door, including alcohol if required. There is a fridge in both houses, as well as cooking facilities, if you wish to purchase additional food or drinks.

There will normally be two organised excursions during your stay so you get to see more of this beautiful area. Typically, one would be a minibus tour of the island, stopping off at one of the incredible beaches for lunch and the other would be a boat trip around the coast with picnic lunch on a deserted beach that’s only accessible from the sea.

Please note that these are subject to change, depending on local sea conditions and other factors. However, there will always be two good value excursions of this type included in the price.

Included in price: shared accommodation, as specified above, airport transfers, 2 excursions, daily breakfast, lunch and dinner plus basic drinks. Bed linen, housekeeping services, resident cook.

Cost £3450, excluding cost of flights, travel insurance and any additional spending money.

To reserve your place you will need to pay a deposit of 25% of the total cost (£862.50). The outstanding balance becomes payable two months before the camp begins.

Full or partial refunds will be totally at the discretion of Roads to Freedom and will only be offered in extreme cases, with supporting documentation, as we wish to make sure the camp is full for everyone's benefit.

Please email: and you will receive an invoice for this amount, together with payment details, as we do not like to make bank details public. As soon as payment is received, we will send you confirmation that your place is reserved.

Obviously, as we only have a maximum of 8 places available, early booking is strongly advised.
